There’s currently no easy way (i.e. brew) to install empire on a mac. Here’s a step-by-step guide to install the package. I’m assuming you have homebrew installed.

  1. If not already done, install swig and openssl
brew install swig openssl
  1. Fetch m2crypto:
python setup.py build build_ext --openssl=/usr/local/opt/openssl
sudo python setup.py install build_ext --openssl=/usr/local/opt/openssl
  1. Build empire:
alias pip=pip2 # seems to be necessary for recently installed python2 versions via brew
cd ~/Downloads/Empire-master/setup
./install.sh

And done! Happy pentesting.
